Grand Theft Auto was developed by Rockstar Games and was released last April 29, 2008. It was published by Take Two Interactive, which has definitely gone with mass production and even promised a week opener of more than 6 million copies in North America for Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 video game consoles.

CEO Ben Feder of Take Two Interactive said that the game is in production and in trucks en route in retailers. The company is expecting large numbers for GTA IV, with as much as $400 million during its first week of sales. GTA IV started with Nico Bellic, who is fresh off the boat from Europe and hopes to escape his past and his cousin Roman. This is as they enter the scene and together they explore fortune in Liberty City, in which, it is the same city that was based on the New York City and New Jersey regions where GTA III was set.

For Roman, Liberty City is a gateway to the land of opportunity. Then they were later on dragged into the criminal underworld. This is right after they had slipped into a large debt through “a series of shysters and thieves”. Roman and Nico soon discover that reality is very different from a dream. This is within a city that worships money and status and is heaven for only those who have them. Plus, on the contrary, it is a living nightmare for those who don’t have money and status.

In this game, you can expect much similarity with the GTA game play that you have come to love. This game is rated M for Xbox 360 and Sony PS3. The plot of Grand Theft Auto IV depicts a new breed of adventure, particularly in the so-called “Grand Theft Auto Universe”, following the experiences of the above mentioned Nico Bellic, an immigrant that came from an unnamed Eastern European nation, where in, his troubled past and the persuasion of Roman, his cousin, who have taken him to this fictional land called Liberty City.

Unluckily, in Nico’s search for his American Dream as well as a severely needed new life, he hits an abrupt snag when Roman’s “rags to riches” story began to spun and pique Nico’s interest, exposing not only a complete fabrication but an indicated ploy in order to enlist Nico’s popular skills in acting as an actual tough guy running against a generous list of actual enemies that clamor for the “debt-ridden blood” of Roman. Since Roman stands as the lone person whom Nico is familiar with in this Liberty City, the latter begrudgingly takes his role, being Roman’s defender despite the prevalent deception.

As the time goes by, Nico comes on his own senses and realizes that his experiences on the wrong side of the tracks have proven to be of more value than what he can only imagine. This is the time, where in, he needs to fight for his survival. Plus, later on, for supremacy along Liberty City’s crime ridden streets.

Thus, in the previous GTA games, the only focus were more on its regard as a mission based game, requiring a successful completion of tasks so that the players can progress through the game. This time, changes were made to a great extent. GTA IV players will experience an entirely new and emphasis centered game that has a combination of the blending of on mission and off mission play, resulting not only in an increased sense of realism but on a more interesting and unrestricted game play. Finally, GTA games that have been hyped in the past years are now hyped with a definite pay off.
