HP’s market into high-end gaming did not change much after it’s acquisition of Voodoo. However, the company secretly worked on its own gaming PC. After nearly a year of collaboration with Voodoo, they came out with their first product. They gave it a codename: Blackbird 002.

Boasting of its unique exterior features that make it look like an accordion floating on a cantilevered base, its interior is as unique as the exterior. Its side panel opens as easily as a car door. On top of the case is a handy pop-up dock with media card reader, Firewire and audio ports. The rear panel is also provided with four USB ports, one Firewire and two SATA connections.

Blackbird 002 features top-of-the-line components like 3.0GHZ Intel Core 2, Asus Striker Extreme Motherboard Chipset, 2GB 1066MHZ DDR2 SDRAM Memory, dual 1GB DDR4 ATI Radeon Graphic Cards, two 160GB 10000 rpm Hard Drive, and two HP superdrive dual-layer multiformat DVD burners with Lightscribe.

The user has the option of having its CPU overclocked to 20% of its clock speed. It has a factory-sealed cooling system that HP promises to be maintenance-free. Blackbird is paired with HP’s own 30-inch LCD great for widescreen movies, games and graphic applications. Users will also enjoy the feature-rich Logitech keyboard and cordless mouse. Blackbird is shipped with Windows Vista Ultimate.

HP’s Blackbird 002 earned the highest rating ever given to a desktop PC. It is competitively priced and great for users who want high-end gaming computers. Blackbird is an over-achiever when it comes to performance.
