Comparison of Latest Gaming Consoles: The Big Three Showdown

Comparison of Latest Gaming Consoles: The Big Three ShowdownThere are three top game consoles nowadays each offering something totally unique to the consumer - an experience one cannot get with the other two. For the first time, three companies currently rule- Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo. It’s the battle of the ages, appearing to leave most high-end gaming consoles in the dust.

Comparison of Latest Gaming Consoles: The Big Three ShowdownFirst to be released in November 2005 was Microsoft’s Xbox 360. With a massive headstart, Xbox 360 is the first system in the market with an impressive launch line-up, a solid online experience and stunning next-generation visuals. It has a lot to offer - from exclusive games to its stellar online system that have set it miles above the competition. It seemed nothing could stop Xbox with its 10.4 million units in sales, but Sony Playstation 3 surpassed its rival in terms of technology.

Comparison of Latest Gaming Consoles: The Big Three ShowdownIts system has incorporated Blu-Ray technology (both the player and the games), which means its game discs can hold much more data than Xbox discs can. It is wi-fi enabled for, and its free online service (the Playstation Network) is a virtual center where gamers will be able to interact in ways never seen before. Besides supporting live and recorded HDTV over the home network, it can download videos and movies from the web. Its only downfall is its hefty price.

Nintendo’s newest creation, the Wii, is all bout how you play games. With its motion-sensing and wireless Remote Controller, it provides gamers a degree of freedom not available on either Xbox or Playstation 3. Much less expensive, its downside is its power. It has the worst hardware built in, therefore, the least productive of all.
