Hit TV Talk Show: The Tyra Banks Show

In her daily one-hour TV talk show, Tyra Banks hits daytime viewers by addressing women issues in unusual ways. She attracts viewers by putting herself in unique situations like acting as a stripper in a topless club and entering a drug rehab facility in Malibu to learn more about an addict’s road to recovery. She also disguised as a male rapper and performed with rapper Chingy. She went through five hours of transformation when she ultimately took the challenge to become a man. She did this in an effort to learn what men really say and do when they hang out with ladies.

On one segment, the former supermodel turned herself as a 350-pound woman and ventured into blind dates to see people’s reaction to obesity. Often described as a younger Oprah Winfrey Show, she could become the successor to Oprah Winfrey’s throne. As the show grows, it becomes mature and entertains much the same way of Oprah’s early episodes.

The show displays much of the same sparkle, intellectual interests, wit and humor. The Tyra Banks Show has been nominated for six Daytime 2007 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Talk Show and Outstanding Talk Show Host. Season three’s premier last September 2007 had an extreme makeover when the show moved from Los Angeles to New York City.

Last Monday’s episode talked about the term “gaydar”, a new term used by some people who claim they know how to determine if someone is gay or not. Tuesday was “Do It Yourself Makeover”. On Wednesday, Tyra brought the audience to their feet when singer and producer Will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas performed “I Got It From My Mama”. Thursday was a full hour with American Idol judge Randy Jackson, former child star Alyssa Milano, and fellow former model Molly Sims. On Friday, October 19, it was about the increasing number of crimes involving high-tech gadgets over the Internet and mobile phones.
