The Canon Pixma iP4500 Photo Printer is a great choice for general office printing but a bit too expensive for basic home users. It delivers high quality photo printing with exceptional text printing. Its design is simple and the body is mainly black with silver accents. PictBridge USB port, power, cancel/feed buttons and a button that provides input source access to users with regards to switching to and from multiple paper trays are the only features present in the printer’s control panel.

It can, however, produce stunning outputs because of Canon’s FINE advanced print head technology. FINE (Full-lithography inkjet Nozzle Engineering) technology uses multi-nozzle print engine that ejects microscopic droplets. Together with genuine Canon photo paper and genuine Canon inks, Canon ChromaLife 100 system produces long-lasting photo prints. This results to high-resolution photos with great clarity and detail.

Canon iP4500 makes printing multiple copies a snap. Built-in automatic duplexing allows printing double-sided documents without manually turning the paper. It has five ink systems - black for better text prints, dye-based black, magenta, cyan and yellow for better graphics and color blending.

The printer’s only connection is thru a USB port. It can, however, be connected on a network using a print server. It lacks LCD as well as memory card slots but offers PictBridge USB port printing directly from digital cameras and infrared-enable mobile phones. Its driver has the ability to create print profiles and photo manipulation options. Cropping, correcting red eye and increasing saturation are also included without having to use additional software.

Overall, Canon Pixma iP4500 is an all-around printer and stood up well to the competition. It has been given a perfect 10 rating by average users.
