Terry and Dianne, a doctor and lawyer couple who have to deal with Dianne being a workaholic while Terry not spending enough time with his wife are amongst the issues tackled by the movie. On the other hand, Mike and Sheila are already on the point of having a divorce because the husband is a cocky philanderer while the wife is an overweight, humiliated woman trying to fight for her self-respect. Meanwhile, it is Angela’s stubborn ways that husband Marcus is sleeping around because of it. The final couple, Patricia and Gavin are both very successful with their own career yet their relationship suffered because of the loss of their son in a car accident. The movie, however, is an excellent motion picture that offered a fabulous storyline with substance and can be classified as five stars. The film was very well done, not to mention that it was very funny. It also addressed issues and concerns on marriages that are very relevant nowadays. Released last October 16, 2007, it was rated PG, therefore parental guidance is recommended. This is probably because most of the characters drink and some commit adultery. Why Did I Get Married is a movie written, directed, and starred by Tyler Perry. |
