Radiohead scores another victory with the band's latest LP "In Rainbows". Released on Dec. 31, 2007 with XL Recordings, "In Rainbows" pushed Radiohead once again in the UK music limelight. This Radiohead feat is 5th in a series of no. 1 UK Billboard Album Chart LPs.

The series of Radiohead UK Album Chart toppers started off with the band's 1997 release entitled "Ok Computer". The next UK LP topper was the 2000 release "Kid A". Afterwards, "Amnesiac" made it to the top in 2001. Then, "Hail to the Thief" snagged the no. 1 UK Billboard Album Chart in 2003.

Radiohead's "In Rainbows" gave Leona Lewis a push to no. 3 with this feat. The 7-week UK Billboard Album Chart LP topper "Spirit", recorded by Leona Lewis with Syco Music/Sony BMG, was a phenomenal debut LP. But after Radiohead took the no. 1 post in the UK LP charts, "Beautiful World", recorded by Take That with Polydor, took the no. 2 post after its 50th week on the charts.

According to a number of reviews, “In Rainbows” is a totally different LP from Radiohead’s roster of LPs. Apart from allowing their fans decide how much to pay for “In Rainbows” by filling up a form, this LP was melodically arranged yet still sounded strangely familiar with its predecessors. This was rather unexpected since the LP was lacking the usual distorted shifts and patterns.

“In Rainbows” has also been praised by a lot of Radiohead fans as their most emotionally intense LP to date. “In Rainbows” was not recorded in a conventional modern-day studio, and this is the main reason most music critics claim as the substance behind the new yet hauntingly familiar music of “In Rainbows”. Arguably, live recordings promote a sense of individuality and artistic freedom. Add this to the fact that Radiohead is amongst the most artistically liberated bands to date, and you get “In Rainbows” – now a UK Billboard Album Chart topper.
